Products What sets NutraNomicsTM products apart from other companies? You may not be aware that many of the top brand nutritional supplement companies in the country have their products developed and made in the same manufacturing facilities. Many of these products contain harmful ingredients that may not be listed on the label. Take a look at the top four hazardous-to-your-health practices most dietary supplement companies have in common. 1) Chinese sourced raw materials. These raw materials come into this country and a majority of them are only tested for bacteria and, sometimes, heavy metal content. Many times no pesticide or preservative content testing is performed. In many cases, Chinese suppliers lie about the active or standardization of these herbs. In our studies, we found many of these herbs contain sorbic acid, benzoic acid, and levels of sulfur dioxide. They are purchased by all of the major brand nutritional supplement companies and used in products consumed by customers every day. Every day, NutraNomics strives to be a China free company. We perform extra testing on raw ingredients AND finished products to verify their quality and abilities to meet our requirements as well as Good Manufacturing Practices. 2) Chemicals in the actual capsule or tablet may not be listed on the label. Vegetarian capsules can also contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS). SLS is one of the most commonly used carcinogens (cancer causing agents) in the world. It is used by capsule manufacturers to “slick up the capsules so they slide into the encapsulation equipment better. Manufacturers can request for SLS free capsules, but most companies do not, as they are more expensive. Many manufacturers will not use these capsules because they will not flow well in encapsulation. Imagine putting more importance on a machine instead of on life. NutraNomics uses 100% cellulose vegetarian capsules. These capsules are free of SLS and animal tissue nothing but pure plant cellulose. With the technology of today, we pride ourselves in making a healthful product, including the capsule. 3) Fillers, flow agents, and other additives. Take a look underneath the facts panel on the product label for a statement reading “Other Ingredients. What does it say? What is gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, etc? Gelatin is the capsule. Most capsules are commonly made of bovine or pig origin, and are rarely tested for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), commonly known as Mad Cow Disease (MCD). Silicon dioxide and chemical magnesium stearate are used to make the product flow more easily so it does not stick in the encapsulation equipment. In some cases, the product may contain up to 30% flow agents as well. Though the FDA lists these chemicals as safe, they are of no health benefit. Other common fillers often used are cellulose, rice bran, rice flour, etc. Food coloring is also used in some products. NutraNomics does not dilute supplements with inert fillers, flow agents, or additives in our products. Plant materials are also available as flow agents. When formulating, we provide each capsule with the much needed dietary supplement intended for use by the body. 4) Absorption Supplements do not absorb fully into the blood stream on their own. Assistance is needed to assimilate the nutrients found in the products. Many dietary supplements do not contain the assistance needed for assimilation in their products.
